Umoja T.W.O. AAU Basketball Team “Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct Agreement” The purpose of this document is to ensure that all parents/guardian of boys participating in the Umoja T.W.O. basketball program are made aware of and are participants of the Code of Conduct Agreement. Each parent/guardian must sign and be aware of the parents Code of Conduct. Umoja T.W.O. basketball program is a volunteer-staffed organization that offers basketball training and games for the children of our community. The primary goal of the Umoja T.W.O. basketball program is to provide a safe, enjoyable environment in which our children can develop basketball skills, as well as experience in a positive manner the emotional social benefits of team play. The role of parents is critical to the success of the Umoja T.W.O. basketball program. It is, therefore, important that you follow the guidelines set forth below. Fulfill your volunteer obligation willingly, knowing that the effort you put forth will directly impact your child’s Umoja T.W.O. basketball experience. Always keep in mind that Umoja T.W.O. is a youth sports program with an emphasis on developing skills and having fun. Although competition is a natural part of sports activities, do not make winning the primary goal for you or your child. Support your child and his team in a positive manner. Cheer for your child and his team, not against the opposing player or team. Always show respect for all players, coaches, game officials and other fans. Allow for the fact that anyone can make a mistake. Set a positive example for our children with your behavior. I will not approach the coach(es) after game, about my son’s playing time or how he was use during the game. A 24 hour wait time will be enforced. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, or practice. I will remember that the Umoja T.W.O. sports program is for youth – not adults. I will do my best to make the sport of basketball fun for my child. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, and creed or ability.
